Juman Sheikh and Alagu Chaudhary were true friends. Their relationship was very deep. Whenever one of them had to go out of the village or away, they looked after each other's families. Both were respected for their loyalty and honesty to each other.

Jumman's aunt had some property which he transferred in his name. In return he hoped that he would take care of her. This settlement worked in his favor for two years. After that Juman and his family's behavior towards him changed. They were fed up with him. Juman did not show any interest in him. His wife reluctantly gave him food. He endured this abuse for a few days.

When she couldn't bear it anymore, she spoke to Jumman. She said that she clearly knew that no one in the house liked her and that she was unwanted. Therefore it would be better to give him some amount on monthly basis so that he can manage his kitchen independently. Jumman shamelessly replies to him that his wife knew that the house was better. Such a reaction made her angry and upset. He thought of taking the matter to the gram panchayat.

The older woman spoke to the villagers, talked in detail about the whole matter and asked for their help. Some beat her, some mock her and some suggest her to patch up with her nephew and his wife. Finally she met Alagu Chaudhary and had a word with him. Alagu hesitated, saying that it was not possible for him to go against his friend. The old lady then requested him and asked him a question. He asked her if it was right to keep quiet and not say anything for which she thought it was right. He further insisted on coming to the panchayat and speaking to get it right. Alagu did not say anything, but his words kept bothering her.

That evening the panchayat was arranged under an old banyan tree. Jumman said that the voice of the punch is of the highest value and is next to the voice of God. Saying this, he asked his aunt to suggest a head punch. He will accept whatever decision is taken.

The old woman declares that the punch is always fair and impartial. Jumman, concealing his happiness, accepted this fact. Alagu asks Chachi if he knows about his friendship with Jumman. She replied that she was well aware and also believed that she would not beat her inner voice for the sake of friendship because she is the voice of God and resides in the heart of Lord Panch. With this, the old lady started telling every detail of the case.

Alagu asks Jumman to talk to her security, which makes both her and her aunt equally aware as he is currently seated on the seat of Punch than a friend. Jumman informed that his aunt had transferred his property in his name three years earlier. In return he gave her a word to take care of her till the last breath of her life. Whatever he could do to support him. But he and his wife fought with each other on some issues, which they were unable to control and prevent. For this reason his aunt was asking for some amount from him on a monthly basis. This was not possible for him.

Jumman was interrogated and questioned by Alagu and others sitting there. After questioning Alagu announced that he had asked everything with utmost care and in his view Jumman would have to pay a monthly allowance to his aunt otherwise the property would be given back to him.

After this, the two were never seen together. Their friendship ended. They were no longer friends. Jumman was feeling hurt and wanted revenge.

After some time, unfortunately, Alagu Chaudhary got caught in a difficult situation. He had a bullock cart and one of them died. So he sold the other to Samaj Sahu, who was a car driver in the village. He had a deal that Sahu would pay the price of the bull within a month. But the bull died within a month.

Several months passed and Alagu asked Sahu to give him the money. Sahu was angry. He angrily said that it is not possible for the poor beast to pay even a single penny, which he sold to him because it ruins him for nothing but, in other words, bad days. In addition they offered to take her oxen to use and return for a month. But he did not pay any money for the dead bull.

Now Alagu decided to take the whole matter to the panchayat. The panchayat was held twice in a time period of a few months. Both parties started meeting people to seek support and help.

The panchayat was organized under the old banyan tree. Alagu stood up and declared that the voice of the panch was the voice of God, in other words, the panch had to be fair and just. With this announcement, he suggested Sahu to propose Pradhan Panch. He also said that whatever decision will be taken, he will accept.

Sahu took this as an opportunity and suggested the name of Jumman. Alagu felt frustrated and weak inside. But he was completely helpless.

As soon as Juman became the Principal Panch, he understood the responsibility of the judge and the honor and adornment of this office. His inner voice made him think. He asked himself whether it was right to take revenge sitting at such a high place. His high voice meant that the internal call did not let his personal feelings dominate the path of justice and truth.

Both Alagu and Sahu put their point and put their thoughts and concerns in front of everyone. He was interrogated and every detail of the case was meticulously observed. After listening to everything, Jumman stood up and announced that in his view, Sahu should pay the price of the bull as there was no suffering or disability of any kind at the time of sale and for buying the bull. The death of the bull was bad luck. But Alagu could not be blamed for this. The fire became emotional. He stood up and declared that this is the victory and complete justice of the panchayat. God is nowhere but in the voice of the punch.

Soon after, Jumman went to Alagu, hugged him and felt sorry for being his enemy since the time of the last panchayat. That day he understood the importance of Panch. A punch is fair and impartial which he could not tolerate friends or enemies. The only thing he knows is justice. No one should ever get away from the path of justice and truth for friendship or enmity. Alagu hugs his friend and cries in remorse. His tears cleared up all the misunderstandings between the two friends.
