The Rebel Poem Summary
Denis Joseph DJ Enright (1920–2002) was a British academic, poet, novelist and critic. She wrote a series of various books and essays, reviews and especially children's books and poems.
The poet simplifies the personality of a rebel. He can be noticed and his antics can be seen. Although this is a negative symptom because the person breaks the rules and shows the opposite of what is expected.
He does not follow normal norms, he challenges society. These individuals can also be productive and socially useful.
A rebel can be seen with its rebellious traits. For example, if members of a society decide to have short hair, the rebel will have long hair. As a mark of rebellion, if he settles for long hair, he will wear short hair.
When everyone is silent during the conversation, while everyone is expected to remain silent, he will not stop talking and will disturb everyone. His attitude is also evident in the dressing. If everyone does, they have not worn the same. However, they will dress in a calm manner during the time of ceremony and party.
They take the conversation to a different level. If everyone talks about dogs, they talk about the cat and vice versa. Rebels did not praise the sun for its warmth and light, as everyone else does. They will not talk about rain. And when everyone welcomes the rain, he talks of the sun.
The ultimate aim of the rebel is to aggressively uphold the time and desires of everyone around. They prefer to be alone when others are engaged in socialization or meetings. He will think about meeting when others feel like staying indoors and reading his books.
Similarly, on various issues, rebels will appear to be opposing others and doing things that no one would be doing.
