The Squirrel Summary
The poet's imagination of the squirrel's appearance and physical characteristics is described in a simple yet exquisite way.
The stanza begins with a physical description of the squirrel. The squirrel is gray in color and therefore the poet states that he wears "gray overcoat". His tail is curled like a question mark. In addition, the poet describes the food that the squirrel likes. He loves to eat nuts.
The poet likes the game of hide and seek between him and the squirrel. If he had moved too close to the squirrel, he would have hid in the other direction.
