A Gift of Chappals Summary
Ravi and Meena went to meet Mridu. He left his sandal at the gate with a pair of slippers which is old and tired. Ravi then took him towards the backyard. Behind a rough bitter - Berry Bush weaned a kitten in a torn football with a coconut shell.
He secretly kept the kitten because it could offend his grandmother, who commented on the double standards of the elders. He said that it was difficult for Mahendran to manage the milk.
He coined a story behind the name of the kitten. He told that the kitten is a descendant of Pallava Singh, who is a symbol of the Pallava dynasty, he saw in Mahabalipuram.
He further stated that this Mahabalipuram was a descendant of the sage Cat and he continued to believe that cats are worshiped in ancient Egypt. He had praised for himself during the conversation.
Then he heard a hoarse sound of the violin played by Lalli. Who did not learn it properly?
Lalli was learning to play the violin from her music guru, who was bald and with an old age. He was wearing a gold chain and diamond ring. Lalli tried to learn the notes but her tracks were disturbed, while the melodious tune came out of the master's expert hands. His attention turned to the diver.

To his surprise, when the music-gurus came out and discovered his slippers. He calls Lalli to help her find her slippers, Rukku Manni and Lalli are embarrassed and are looking suspiciously.
The mother questioned the children whether there was anyone around the verandah. He got angry when he came to know that the slippers had been given to the beggar. He was confronted by the logic of exemplary sacrifice by Karma, which gave him his precious wealth.
Mother rebuffs him, saying that he gave what he had. She hurriedly went inside to fetch Golu Mama's sandal. The teacher gave the children a hopeless look. Everyone knew that Golu Mama would be a temporary respite from this problem, as Golu Mama would also disapprove of his acts.
