The author feels that it is strange and unusual for her to write in a diary about her feelings and experiences as this was the first time she was doing so. She feels so because she thinks that in the future, no one will be interested in reading about the school-going girl's past. She thinks that later, even she won't be interested in reading. But then she keeps these thoughts away and decides that if she wants to do so, she should write. He feels the need to write because there were too many ideas he had caught recently and he needed to get it out of his mind. It is known that writing down one's thoughts serves as a form of therapy; She decides to write a diary.

The author feels that the paper has more ability to absorb ideas than people. People have a low level of patience but a piece of paper, being a non-living thing, will not be prohibited from absorbing its thoughts. This realization occurred to her one day when she was feeling more sad and confused than usual. She could not even decide whether to go out of the house at that time. When she finally decided to stay home, she sat down in a sad and deep thought. Again, he thought there was more patience in the paper and decided to write down everything that came to his mind because he did not intend to read anyone until he found a "real friend". By "real friend", he meant a friend, With whom she could share all her secrets. The writer then returns to the point where he thought about starting writing. This is because he is single and has no friends to talk to.

She then explains why she feels the need for a friend. She feels that no one is going to believe that a young girl like her is so lonely, which she is practically not, because she is a loving family, with about 30 people whom "friends", love Aunt aunt and a good place to live can be called. It depicts a clear picture of a happy family, but lacks one thing in her life, the presence of a true friend with whom she can share everything. She spends a good time with friends; They talk about stuff but not the actual stuff that is really going on in their lives. Despite trying hard, they are unable to pass. She feels that perhaps it is she who is not able to trust anyone with her personal belongings that she is not able to get close to her friends. He feels that the present situation cannot be changed and as such, he has to write his feelings in the diary.

Usually, when someone is writing in a diary, they formally list all the facts about them that the author does not want to do. This is because she wanted to give a shape to her need for a friend and thus, decides to name the diary as "kitty". Hoping that someone will read his diary one day, he thinks that it would be ineffective to write without detailing the background story. So, despite not doing so, she gives a brief account of her life.

She refers to her father as the dearest father she could have received. He married his father at the age of 36 and he was 25 years old. He and his sister Margot were both born in Frankfurt. As Anne turned 4, her father moved to Holland with her mother in September, while the two sisters stayed with their grandmother in Aachen. Margot was also sent to Holland in December and then brought to Anne in February as Margot's birthday.

In Holland, Anne was sent to Montessori Nursery School. (This was her first school) She started first. She had Mrs. Kumparas, head teacher, sixth as her teacher, who also cried at the time of farewell. In 1941, the author's birthday could not be celebrated well, as his grandmother became ill and underwent an operation.

Unfortunately, his grandmother left him in January 1942. Anne misses her grandmother who no one knows. This year's birthday was to be celebrated with great enthusiasm to compensate for the previous year. She then reveals that her family is doing a good job, which gives her background and brings her to the present date of June 20, 1942, while she is writing her diary.

On 20 June 1942, Anne began writing in her diary, addressing it as her friend "Kitty". She mentions how her entire class is bewildered by their results. This is unpredictable and will be decided by a meeting of teachers in which they will choose to transfer or hold students back to the next class. Many students were placing bets. Some had put their entire summer savings at stake. She and her friend, Ji, also made fun of the panicked boys. They kept saying to each other that "I am not going to pass!" While others will console them and say, "Yes, you will". Zi was polite as he tried to stop them from making noise while Anne scolded him, but none of it worked. According to Anne, About a quarter of the class should not be allowed to pass as they rarely respond to or participate in any activity. She refers to him as a "dummy". But this cannot happen because teachers' decisions cannot be predicted.

The author says that he is not bothered about his friends because he is sure they will pass. The only subject that he is unsure about is mathematics. He has a hard time with the subject. But all they could do was wait for the results and not lose hope.

She describes how she has a relationship with all her teachers except the professor of mathematics. He was constantly irritated by the writer's conversation. Despite several warnings, Anne did not stop talking in her classes, prompting her to give her extra homework as punishment. The first was to write an essay on "Chatterbox" which he thought was a strange subject to write because what anyone could write about it.

For the moment, he wrote the subject in his notebook, placed it in his bag and focused on remaining silent.

The author came across the note he had made as a reminder for the essay as he had completed the rest of his homework. She started thinking about the subject. "While chewing the tip of my fountain pen" is a gesture that indicates that the person is in deep thought. While anyone could refer to random stuff written to fill the pages, he wanted to present concrete arguments in support of talking. She mentioned that she would try to improve herself as a student but the thing is something that cannot be completely eliminated. This is because he got it as an inherited trait from his mother and thus ended up writing 3 pages on the subject.

The professor finds Anne's arguments amusing but when she does not stop talking even in the next lesson, he gives her another assignment as punishment. The subject was "an inconsiderate nonsense". Misunderstanding refers to a bad habit that is difficult to change. He subjected her to this because he was angry at her invincible chatting during his lessons. Upon receiving this assignment, the professor did not say anything to him for some time, but when he lost his patience, he assigned another assignment as a punishment on the subject of Quake, Quake, Quake, Sad Mistress Chatterbox.

When the professor rebukes and punishes him for the third time, the whole class starts laughing. As a result, he also had to pretend to be happy. After writing twice on similar topics, she ran out of ideas. Thus, her friend, a good friend in poetry, offered to help her write in the poem. This entire assignment scenario was meant to embarrass Anne, but she ensured that she gave an effective answer.

She finally wrote her third work in the form of a poem, which turned out very well. He has written a satire that a father killed his three children due to their noisy nature. To her good luck, the professor took it lightly. The professor recited the entire poem in front of the class, giving his comment together. The author is lucky enough to speak uninterruptedly after this incident as a punishment with no homework. Also, Mr. Keasing, the professor, started telling jokes every time in front of the class.
