'His First Flight' summary

The story is about a young seagull who is at that stage of life where he has to learn to fly. Unlike his younger brothers and sisters, he is also afraid to fly. When they all first flew near the seashore, everyone but them succeeded. He could not rely on his wings. He was terrified of the vast sea and convinced that he could never fly. As a result, he became embarrassed and frustrated and thus, went inside the brink where he usually slept.

His younger siblings managed to make their first flight, despite their wings being shorter than their wings, but they tried so hard not to muster courage. He was scolded by his parents for not trying again but was so scared that he couldn't even move.

Now, he was left alone for a day after trying because his parents were busy focusing on his siblings. He helped his siblings to fly for food (fish) and mastered the art of diving. His older siblings also caught his first fish, which he proudly ate on a rock, while his parents celebrated it. That morning, his parents taunted him all the way to being a coward.

The sun had now risen and he was feeling more hot than before because it was already empty from the night before. He stepped into her leadership and pretended to sleep on one leg to get his family's attention. Still, no one paid attention to that. His siblings were sleeping, his father was cleaning his wings with his beak, and his mother was eating fish on another plateau when he saw her. Seeing the fish, Seagal went mad because he was so hungry. He liked to rip the fish and to scratch his beak now and then.

She cried in her mother's hunger, while her mother screamed angrily but she kept on crying soon after seeing her mother fly away with a piece of fish. As soon as he got near, he got excited and thus leaned forward. Suddenly, she did not stop very far from him. Out of excitement and hunger, he dived on the fish without realizing for a moment, that he was afraid to fly.

He got so excited that he fell down while trying. For a moment, he was in shock and stood out of terror. All this only lasted for a moment and soon, his wings opened as he ran away. He could feel the wind against his breast wings, abdomen and wings. He could feel himself being cut off from the air. He was no longer afraid. He was a little nervous but then his mother supported him. The entire family shouted enthusiastically, thus, celebrating their victory over fear.

Once he has overcome his fear, he forgets that he is afraid of it once. He did all the things he once feared. He ran straight into the sea and could see the greenery and mountains beneath it. He shouted with joy as soon as he enjoyed the victory.

When she landed, her family landed with her as a gesture that they were proud of. They were screaming and screaming in excitement with their loud voice. He then went to the sea where at first he got nervous and thus panicked. He tried to run away but was exhausted and weakened due to hunger. Thus, when he calmed down, he went swimming in the sea, which he was once afraid of. His family was celebrating in ecstasy and offered him food as a compliment. Finally, he had overcome his fears and made his first flight.

The Black Aeroplane Summary

It was nighttime when the sky was clear and stars could be seen twinkling. The pilot felt at peace over the country that had fallen asleep while he was flying from France to England. It was already one and a half in the morning and he was fantasizing about holidaying with his family.

When the airplane was in France, the pilot thought of informing Paris Control personnel about its presence and instructions. At that time, the lights of the city of Paris were burning on him. He informed the controlling agency, to which he responded with further instructions on the instruction. The Parisian control room instructed him to turn 12 degrees to the west.

After receiving instructions, the pilot worked and followed the last fuel tank into operation. At this time, he was dreaming about his time with his family and then, he started thinking about having a satisfying breakfast at the destination point. He was calm as everything was well planned.

Now, the plane had crossed Paris when it began to see clouds in the sky. The presence of clouds made it unsafe to travel through the air as there was a possibility of a storm. They were so huge and deep that the pilot compared them to the "Black Mountains". He knew that he could not pass them because it was impossible to go over them or save them with the amount of fuel left in the last tank. The correct decision would have been to safely return to Paris. But the pilot's decision was clouded by the desire to meet his family. He wanted to be with his family and was dreaming all day, that he risked not going back. Thus, he took the plane into the perfect storm.

The storm was so dark that nothing was visible outside the plane. He started losing control of the airplane. Compass and other instruments also stopped working due to bad weather. He became helpless.

He tried to call the Paris Control Agency, which had previously helped him, but could not connect because of the weather. In between, when all else failed, he saw a ray of hope when he saw another airplane. He felt relieved when he saw the face of another pilot and showed a desire to help him escape the storm. He thought to himself that the second pilot was too kind because he knew they were lost and were trying to help him.

The second pilot followed him to make it easier for him to take his plane ahead of the lost airplane, while the author followed him as an "obedient child". He was also nervous because there was a small amount of fuel left. Then he started coming out of the storm and could see the runway to land his plane safely. When he turned to thank the other pilot, he realized that the plane that had helped him disappeared as soon as he came out of the storm.

The writer did not know where he had landed, but was not afraid to leave his plane unattainable. He went directly to the control room to ask about the second pilot. To his utmost surprise, the woman informs him that he had no other aircraft in the sky due to bad weather. He is amazed at the many unanswered questions in his mind.
