The School Boy Summary 

The School Boy poem is about an unhappy schoolboy. He likes summer mornings and is fond of watching trees and birds. We know that the morning is full of hopes and aspirations. He finds the distant sound of the horn of the hunter pleasurable. Also, she aspires to sing with Skylark. In short, he enjoys being in the fellowship of nature.

As he has to go to school, his morning hours pass unabated. As a result, his life in school is also worrying. He is not interested in studies and books. Even the teacher's lecture bored him. The teacher also keeps a close watch on all the students so that they follow all the rules and regulations.

Thus, their day is spent in distress and sorrow. In addition, he loses all his pleasure. The poet compares the school to a tree under which children sit and learn. The boy says that he does not get peace even by sitting under this tree.

We all know that the joy of childhood lies in being free and happy like a bird. Here the poet compares a child in school to a bird in a cage. He thus states that since a bird is miserable in a cage, there is a child in the school. He says that a child who is afraid of his parents and teachers cannot be happy and happy.

The poet further states that parents should not deprive the child of enjoyment and freedom for studies. Depriving them of enjoyment and freedom is like depriving their spring world. The poet also compares it to plucking buds and flowers from plants. They believe that in the absence of a happy childhood, this world will be a sad place.

The poet has compared it beautifully with nature. He says that without a happy childhood, we would only have a cold of sorrow. We will never be able to experience the heat of happiness.

Poetry teaches us that as parents we will take proper care of our children. It is our duty to see that our children are happy, joyful and independent. If we want our generation to be happy and prosperous, then we need to make their childhood happy.
