The road not taken summary

Once when the poet was walking on a road and then there was a bend, there were two different paths and he had to choose one. The poet states that as he was a person, he could travel only on a road. He had to choose one of these two roads. Yellow wood means a forest with leaves that have worn out and they have turned yellow - the autumn season. It represents a world full of people, where people have been living for many years. They represent people who are older than the poet. The poet stood there and watched the passage very carefully as far as he could see. Before taking the path, he wanted to know what it was like. Was it suitable for him or not. He was able to see the route from where it was curved after which it was covered with trees and hidden. It also happens in our lives when we have choices, we have choices,

The poet kept looking at a passage for a long time to check whether it was the right path for him and he decided and started on the other path as he felt that both the paths were equally good. He says as justified, therefore, that he felt both paths were equally good and started walking on one of them. He adds that perhaps he felt the way was better for him so he chooses it because he had grass on it which means it was not used. Many people had not walked this path before, that is why this road was grassy. 'And Wanted' means that it was not run by many people. When he walked a long way, he realized that both paths had deteriorated in the same way. Both the paths were similar and worn. In our life too, we take any path or option, but all of them have advantages, disadvantages, problems, The challenges are the same and we should face them. We feel that we are making a better choice, but it is not so.

The poet says that both routes were the same that morning. Both had left leaves on them and no one had stepped on them as they were still in green. He decided that on that day he would take one path and on the other day would take another route, although he knew that one path leads to another. He knew that he could not go back to his liking. Similarly, once in our life too, once we make a choice, we should keep moving forward with that choice and we will never get a chance to come back and take the other option that we had given up earlier.

He says that in the future, he will take a deep breath and say that at one point of time, he had reached a point in life that he had two options and he traveled on a road on which he traveled less. People used to go. That decision of hers decided her future. Similarly, in the future, when you grow up, you will say that once you were younger, you had two options. The choice you made made you what you became. This is a very strong message for all students - that you must be wise and be careful when making choices out of the choices that you have in your life because your future depends on the choices you make today.
