Dust of Snow Summary
It is the winter season and the poet sits quietly under a hemlock tree covered in snow. For a moment, a crow sitting on a tree branch shakes the tree, and the snow falls from the tree onto the poet. The ice is cold and velvety, which bitterly changes the mood of the poet. It fills him with a refreshing feeling. This moment was very compelling and saves his day from despair. The black crow is usually a symbol of evil omen and symbol of death and fear. As the crow is not concerned with harmony, it is ironic that during this poem he did an honest job by edging the ice.
Robert Frost did not like to use any other tree such as oak, maple or pine. He chose hemlock which is usually related to poisoning and poisoning.
